I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring since winter began… I am SO ready for the weather to start warming up a bit around here. On top of that, I recently did a little bit of online researching into what the biggest fashion trends were going to be for the upcoming spring season. And oh my god, you guys… They are amazing. Now that I know how perfectly in-line this season’s trends are with my own personal sense of style, I have yet another reason to feel even more impatient for spring to get here!
While I’m sitting here waiting on it though, I thought I would share with you guys what some of my very favorite spring trends are for this 2019 season! While I wish very much that I could afford to try out each and every one of them, unfortunately, I don’t think my bank account would survive. Instead, I’ve chosen to share with you what my top 15 favorites are.
1. Head-to-Toe Beige
I can’t get enough of neutral colors, so I absolutely love that ‘all beige everything’ is a trend this season. It’s definitely one of the trends that I am most excited about. I will be incorporating this as soon as I possibly can.
2. Crochet & Knits
Both crochet and knit are two of my very favorite fabrics. One of my most treasured vacation tank tops is crochet, so I am very excited that this is going to be a spring 2019 trend. Also, crochet is the perfect material for swim cover-ups, am I right? Can you say spring break?! And, in my opinion, one can never have too many knits….
3. Puff sleeves
I totally didn’t think that I would be into this trend when I saw it on the runway, but when I saw the options available in real life, I became an instant lover of the puff sleeve. I have a few different tops with puff sleeves waiting patiently to come home with me in several different shopping carts on several different online stores, right now. It’s still to be determined which one(s) will win that battle…
4. Animal print
Okay, so EASILY, one of my very favorite trends of the spring/summer 2019 season is animal print!! I’m especially loving snake print lately, and am having a really hard time deciding which pieces to purchase in order to copy this trend myself. The Marc Fisher booties that I have linked below are my latest obsession.
5. Metallic Fabrics
This trend is definitely coming from a nod to the 80’s, which has been, in and of itself, a pretty big trend this year. It’s clear that the 80’s trend is still going strong, with all the neon colors and high-waisted jeans that were seen all over the runways, and with that, also came lots of metallic fabrics! I’ll take it!
6. Shirt Dresses
The shirt dress is a dress that basically resembles a man’s shirt, with details like crisp or satin fabrics, cuffed sleeves, collars and a button-up front. I’ve always loved wearing my hubby’s button-up shirts, so this is definitely a trend I think I can get into!
7. Fringe
You guys, I love me some fringe, and this season it’s been spotted all over the place! Hanging from the ends of skirts, on the arms of jackets and it’s even managed to find it’s way into accessories like purses and earrings. As much as I love this trend, I think I’ll be sticking to incorporating this into my accessories vs. the more higher-priced clothing items. But hey, to each her own, right?!
8. Loose High-waisted Trousers
I have wanted to purchase a pair of high-waisted paperbag trousers for quite a while now. Knowing that this season they are so “in”, I think it’s high time for me to cave and get my hands on a pair of these.
9. Sheer Fabrics
I will never forget the time that I tried to wear an all-sheer top to the country club in my hometown… Suffice it to say, my father was not very pleased with me, so I had to go back home and change. But guess what, dad?! Sheer fabrics are very much on-trend this season! I’ve already got my eyes on a beautiful sheer top, (that’s also on sale), which I’ve linked below, from Revolve. Come to mama!! If you’d rather go more conservative with this trend, you could always stick with sheer sleeves only vs. an all-sheer top. Come to think of it, that probably would have been a little more tasteful to wear to the country club…. :S
10. Trench Coats
This is another spring trend that I’m super excited about! I just recently purchased a light beige trench coat from Pretty Little Thing for under $40! I’ve linked it below in the gray color. Looks like it’s a great quality, too, so I’m very excited to be rocking this trend soon!
11. Washed Out Denim
The Canadian tuxedo is a truly beautiful thing. And this season, washed-out, and/or acid-washed denim is going to be the way to go! Personally, I am hoping to invest in both an acid-washed denim coat and light-washed denim skirt this season. And I’m probably going to be wearing them together, not gonna lie… I can’t help myself, I’m from the Midwest! All denim everything, baby.
12. Punk
The punk-rock trend was also seen all over the runways, from combat boots, leather jackets, and vintage rock-n-roll t-shirts, this trend will be very much “in” this spring 2019 season. And I will be very much jumping on the bandwagon here! I’ve already got my eyes on some Sam Edelman combat boots, which I will be linking below. They’re pretty fabulous, if I do say so myself. 🙂
13. Pleats
I’m slightly annoyed with myself, because I just recently did a major purge of the clothes in my closet, and gave away both of the pleated skirts that I previously owned. However, as you can see from the options that I’ve linked below, investing in another very affordable pleated skirt, shouldn’t be too difficult! I’m thinking of going with the beige option and killing two trends with one stone. Get it? 😉
14. Neon
Another nod to the 80’s, neon will be very popular this spring and summer and I fully plan on repping it to the max! Whether it be on swimsuits, cocktail dress attire, over-sized knits, or a hot pink vinyl skirt (yes, I’ve linked this below), I will be milking this trend for as long as I can.
15. Plastic, Transparent Accessories
I’ve saved my VERY favorite trend of the season for last. TRANSPARENT ACCESSORIES!! I’m obsessed with this trend, you guys. From purses and clutches, to shoes, to jewelry, and even trench coats, this trend has my heart forever. I will 1000% be investing in, at least a couple of pieces, that will assist me in incorporating this perfect trend into my wardrobe.
Okay, so there you have it! Those are the trends that I am most excited about for the 2019 spring and summer season. Along with the above trends, a few others that I think will be extremely popular this season are: pearl accessories, ruffles, feathers, and the colors yellow and sage green are all the rage right now!
One last thing I wanted to mention, was the fact that almost every item I have linked above, (especially if it’s from Revolve), is on major sale right now! And the Nasty Gal items are ALL on sale for 50% off, today only! The sale price doesn’t always show up on the liketoknow.it widget though, so be sure to click the links and actually visit the website for the official sale prices!! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!
XOXO,
Kenzie
Very nice Honey!!!
